ORCONTROL is a minute-by-minute coordination system designed to automate and coordinate all catheterization and electrophysiology activities. It puts cardiologists, staff, and other medical center personnel on the same page at the same time. ORCONTROL uses RTLS (Real Time Locating Systems) to automate the manual process of tracking patient location and case status. Its intuitive interface allows for continuous coordination of rooms, procedures, patients, schedules, and critical equipment. Information can be transparently viewed by all those with a need to know both inside and outside the Cath/EP Lab. Most modifications are executed with the touch of a finger. The “forward looking” design of the system constantly reevaluates and modifies the day-of-procedure schedule. The system also automatically alerts the appropriate parties when situations arise that may cause delays in the immediate future. Due to its highly integrated design and implementation, ORCONTROL requires virtually no training and does not alter any existing clinical practice or IT system.
